LOWER NAM KAM IRRIGATION PROJECT

Description Proposed lower Nam Kam reservior having surface area of 30 km2 with average storage capacity of approx.36 McM at 138.5 m. MSL. The water gate is located at Ban Non Sang and is equipped with pool-type fish ladder. The Project could irrigate up to 70,000 rais (11,200 ha.) after all 3 development phases are completed. Phase 3 Development includes pumping station at Mekong river bank to supply water into Nam Kam reservoir during dry season.

UPPER NAM KAM IRRIGATION PROJECT
Location: Sakhon Nakhon and Nakhon Phanom Province, Thailand

Description The project components consist of 5 diversion gates on Nam Kam and Nam Bang rivers for irrigation area of 700,000 rai (12,000 ha). Shortout of some river parts will be made for flood alleviation. Improvement of existing ponds (area 50 > rai) is also proposed for sources of water supply to nearby communities.
