Brief description of the project:
Thai Kraft Paper Industry Co., Ltd. A subsidiary of Siam Cement Public Co., Ltd. was planning to expand its paper mill in the area of 113 rai at Wangsala subdistrict, Thamuang district, Kanchanaburi province with its production capacity of 300,000 ton/year. Recycle paper is used as the main raw material together with new pulp. Some of used paper has to import because of not enough local amount.

Dynamic Engineering Consultants Co., Ltd. The SEATEC Group of Companies was appointed by Thai Kraft Paper Industry Co., Ltd. to undertake the Design, Project Management and Construction Supervision works. The work comprises of;
2 paper machine buildings with large machinery’s foundation, 2-storey’s reinforce concrete, rigid frame roof and column with span 23 m, total area of 30,000 m2
- 1-storey reinforce concrete warehouse, rigid frame roof and column with span 24 m., total area of 15,000 m2
- 5,000 m2 chemical plant and pulp storage
- 2,500 m2 power plant foundation and turbine generator
- Water storage tower capacity of 5,000 m3
- Water paper yard and unloading pit
- Road and drainage system
- Electrical system
- Fire protection system
- Clear well and effluent sump
- Water supply system
- Air conditioning and ventilation system
- Weighing and control room
Brief description of Engineering Technique:
The Kraft Paper Mill required to start production as fast as possible for reducing investment cost. The Fast Track Construction Management Method was introduced to this project and successful. Fast Track construction method is to do concerning activities parallel. Design and separated bidding for each construction activity that process by priority.
Such as earth work, foundation can be done while waiting for structural design work. Problem of conflict and responsibility found is between contractor and contractor of each job, design consultant and construction supervision consultant, if they are from different company. These can be solved by designer representative have always be at the construction site, construction supervision consultant coordination for solving the problem, and with open mind project owner.
