Project Description: The Rail Network Link to Suvarnabhumi Airport (Phayathai Makkasan/Asoke-Suvarnabhumi Section) or other known as Suvarnabhumi Airport Rail Link and City Air Terminal Project

consists of 2 commuter lines as follows:

(1) Suvarnabhumi Airport Express (SA Express) :  non-stop commuter train from the City Air Terminal (CAT) to Suvarnabhumi Airport and vice-versa with traveling time not more than 15 minutes

(2) Suvarnabhumi Airport City Line (SA City Line) : commuter train from Phayathai Station linking with the BTS skytrain and the Suvarnabhumi Airport Station with other 6 stations. i.e., Rachaparob, Makkasan/Asoke at CAT, Ramkamhaeng, Huamark, Tabchang, and Ladkrabang.

The main components of the project are:

  • Elevated rail structures from Phayathai Station to Ladkrabang Station, total distance of 26.8 km.
  • At-grade rail structures from Ladkrabang Station approaching the ramp towards the underground structure to Suvarnbhumi Station, total distance of 860 meters
  • Ramp and underground rail structure to Suvarnabhumi Station, total distance of 914 meters
  • Depot located at Klongton
  • City Air Terminal to facilitate check-ins for outbound/ departing passengers
  • 7 Stations and the Suvarnabhumi Station at the basement of the Airport Terminal Building.
