The construction was completed within a period of 2 years, a very short time for a project which comprises twenty three 8 to 14 – storeyed buildings and covers a construction area of 260,000 sq.m. What differentiates the athletes village from other housing projects is the application of the ‘Prefabrication System’. Most components of the buildings e.g. slabs stairways, walls etc. are pre-cast components. It is a most successful project in respect of schedules, budget and quality, to be accomplished with a most limited period of time and under strictly controlled budget.
