Objective of Project: Further strengthen economic cooperation between and among the People’s Republic of China (PRC), Lao PDR and Thailand; reduce transport costs in the Corridor, increase the efficiency of the movement of goods and people, support development of the rural and border areas, and promote tourism.

Project Description: The Project Road, or National Route 3 (NR3), is located in the northwestern corner of Lao PDR, and connects Houay Xay on the Mekong River bordering Thailand with Boten on the border of China.  The project is divided into three parts; from Houay Xay – Ban Sod funded by Thai Government, from Ban sod- Nam Lung funded by The Asian Development Bank (ADB), from Nam Lung – Boten funded by The Chinese Government. PVS-95 Consultant Co., Ltd., as subcontractor from Nawarat Patanakarn Public Co., Ltd., services for design and construction which are the Topographical and Control Survey, Detailed Road and Bridge Design and Documentation for The Project National Highway 3 (Houay Xay to Boten) Contract Package B Km.84+000 – Km. 169+800 Ban Sod to Nam Lung.

Scope of Service : Survey and Detailed Design in Highway, Pavement, Geometric, Structural and Drainage System in the total of 84 km.

  • Survey detailed data and geometric design
  • Check topography survey data of the nearby terrain in order to check the possibility for setting the road alignment and preparing engineering design
  • Pavement design based on data from material and soil investigation
  • Structural design for drainage structure; bridges, box culverts, pipe culverts and side drains
  • Road safety design for the project
